The Jean-Bernard Foundation for Knowledge and Arts, Inc is a non-profit professional organization that has as its fundamental objective, since its creation in 2008, the promotion and integration of the interdisciplinary research, praxis, communication and community empowerment of investigators and artists, in all the scientific and cultural fields in Puerto Rico, the United States, and elsewhere. The Jean-Bernard Foundation serves as an international forum for members engaged in diverse forms of knowledge and/or artistic activity through study, research, performance, exhibition, publication, international meeting, teaching and community empowerment. The foundation encourages interaction between individuals and groups from diverse regions, educational institutions, research organizations, artistic agencies, and individuals engaged in independent scholarly and artistically pursuits. The Jean-Bernard Foundation looks to promote the exchange and dissemination of knowledge concerning materials, methods, and products of Studies and Works by organizing a conference at least once every two years, and other appropriate activities such as: issuing a journal, a newsletter, a membership directory, and other publications of and for its membership. The foundation encourages and supports the growth, continuation, and development of studies and artistic entities, academic and community-based programs, and other entities and activities designed to further the study and transformation of the world of knowledge and fine Arts in Puerto Rico, the United States, and elsewhere. The foundation fosters exchanges with related professional and community-based organizations, including, among others, scientific and philosophical studies, international studies, artistic and cultural studies, musical composition and performance, visual arts in general, drama, literature, and other groups engaged in the study of knowledge and/or arts. The foundation also wishes promote the dissemination of the French language, knowledge, history, research and culture, specifically through the Jean-Bernard Award.
